Richard van Gelder-Horgan is Wakefield’s newest GP at the practice.
Originally from Christchurch, Richard did most of his schooling in Rotorua. He is an Otago University graduate – finishing in 2013. Richard has worked both in Christchurch and Nelson hospitals before choosing general practice.
Outside of medicine, Richard is married to Nicola, who is also a GP. They love the outdoors, and are keen trampers and skiers.
Richard will be looking after Pete McKenzie’s patients now that he has retired, and is looking forward to becoming part of the Wakefield community.
